Walter "Wally" Feine Obituary

Feine, Walter “Wally”, 66, of West Babylon passed away after a short battle with cancer on March 22, 2024. Cherished husband of 40 years to Eileen. Devoted and loving father of Daniel (Victoria Weitgenant) and Andrew (Gaby). Treasured grandfather of Olivia, Ava and Lucas.  Dear brother of Doug. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Anyone who knew Wally, understands that there are not enough words to describe what a fabulous man he truly was. He was selfless, hardworking, intelligent, meticulous, resourceful, dependable, loving, and a true “gem” of a person. Wally found happiness and fulfillment in helping others, even when he wasn’t up for it. He was a self-taught, modern-day “MacGyver” and an “jack of all trades” whose talents knew no bounds. Whether it was a “simple” auto-repair, fixing a leaky faucet, renovating a home, or constructing a makeshift solution to a problem, he was the person family and friends knew to call.  In a drop of a hat, Wally was always there for everyone who needed him, tools in hand, ready to work. And if for some reason, their wasn’t a tool to fix the problem, don’t you worry, Wally would fabricate one. He would look for just about any excuse to be outside. He enjoyed being in nature, going for walks, especially at Belmont lake. Wally was very particular about his lawn care and yardwork, and no one could ever be able to do it as good as him. As they say, “if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself”. He loved watching and feeding the birds in the yard. But as much as he loved watching the birds come to the feeder, he loved defying the squirrels more. He made intricate contraptions to keep them away from the feeders and if by the off chance that didn’t work, the occasional flying shoe would always do the trick. Beyond his unparalleled skills, Wally's family always was always his first priority. His children could not even mention in passing something needing to be done at their homes without Wally dropping everything to come over to save the day. Whether it was a leaky roof or needing to mow the lawn, if there was a way he could help his children, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Wally’s family made his world go round and he took every opportunity to be with them. He cherished the close relationship his family had with one another, and they made memories doing the simplest of things together. When his grandchildren were born, a new light was lit in Wally. He treasured the opportunity to babysit his grandchildren. He loved taking them to the park, going to their sports games, taking them bike riding, putting their bikes together and transforming the girl toys into the boy toys. He touched the lives of many with his gentle spirit and caring nature, leaving behind a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family will receive visitors Sunday, March 24th, 4-8 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Wake service Sunday, 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
