Brost, Sven, longtime resident of Farmingdale, born in 1933 Sweden and passed away after a brief illness on January 23, 2021. Sven lived “The American Dream” by opening up a little fish market with his wife Boel in 1961 that became a successful restaurant called Captain Andy’s. Sven and Boel owned and operated Captain Andy’s for 43 years before retiring in 2004. Sven had a multitude of interests during his lifetime including sand blasting, welding, chopping wood and creating art including metal sculptures. He is survived by his “Bride” of 63 years Boel, his daughters Ester Zeis (of Arizona) and her husband Don, daughter Yvette Floresta (of Farmingdale) and her husband Guy (who was like a son to him) and three granddaughters who he loved with all his heart and who equally loved their Sveny, Amber, Alex and Andie (and her Fiance, Fred Kezer). His BIG smile and even bigger personality will be truly missed by so many.
Cheers to “The Captain”
