Spataro, Richard, 64, of Bethpage passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2023. Beloved husband of Viviana. Loving father of Jeanette Spataro (Neil Russo), Saralyn Pinedo (Jason), Richard Spataro and John Spataro (Nicole Simpson). Adored grandfather of Joseph James. Dear brother of Charles and the late Stephen. Also survived by his “adopted daughter” Natosha Powell, “adopted son” Nicholas Duff, nephews Robert, David and Raymond Spataro, cousins, as well as extended family and friends. Richie was truly a character, with the gift of gab. He was very funny, and loved to joke around and tell stories. He was so happy and proud of his first grandson Joseph. Richie enjoyed going to Vincent's Clam Bar, playing cards, watching sports, watching horse races and going to Atlantic City. He learned handball from his father and loved to tell stories about how in his youth he was the New York Handball Champion. In his younger years, he also enjoy playing sports and was an avid tennis player. Richie was a huge Elvis and Billy Joel fan. Richie’s upbeat personality will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, March 21st, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Wednesday, March 22nd, 11:15am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Cremation private.
