Ellison, Helen M., 96, of Bethpage, passed away January 8, 2023. Predeceased by her husbands James Monteleone and Howard Ellison. Loving mother of Kathleen Drap (the late Dennis), Renee Greenwood (John), Barbara DiGiorgio (Robert), and James Monteleone. Cherished grandmother of Dawn Bavaro, Keith Drap, Brian Bavaro (Darlene), KJ Drap, Gregory DiGiorgio, and Danielle Whaley. Beloved great grandmother of Brenton, Brianna, Dylan, Jordyn, Anthony, Giovanni, Ariella, Teagan, and Brayden. Adored “Cat-Mom” of Kalli Boots. Dear aunt of Diane Morrison, Joanne Pilla, Joanie Walsh, and many others. Helen was sweet, loving, positive, inspiring, and adventurous. She never worried or complained and was known as a second mother to many, the “fun aunt” and inspiring to all. She was creative and an artist, she painted, knitted, sewed, and crafted. Helen was an avid reader of history and nature books. Helen lived an athletic lifestyle participating in the Senior Olympics and the Macy’s Tap Parade, hiking the Adirondack and Appalachian Mountains, climbing the Mayan Pyramids, figure skating, shoveling snow and at the age of 91, she climbed the dunes in Montauk. She was up every single morning at 6 am to do Jacqueline’s TV workout. Helen was an animal lover, donating to help them as much as possible. Helen loved the color pink, listening to Rock and Roll music and she collected over 600 dolls. She loved the beach, going on the boat, clamming, crabbing, and eating raw seaweed. Helen lived her life to the fullest and inspired all who knew her to do the same. The family will receive visitors Thursday, January 12th, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Friday, January 13th, 10 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Bethpage. Cremation private.
