Vishner, George John Jr., “Gordo” 74, born in New York City January 5, 1949, passed away August 27, 2023. Proud graduate of Farmingdale High School, class of 1967, where he played varsity football and baseball. George served in the United States Armed Forces from 1968-1970. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Farmingdale for 42 years. Gordo is now in a better place with his loving parents George and Fran, and his beloved sisters Rita and Noreen. Cherished uncle of Bobby Heller (Pat), Lori Sutherland (Jerry), Ronnie Heller (Heidi), Lynda Wagner (Eric), Michael Heller (Diane), and Randi Caputo (Ronny), and 14 great nieces and nephews. George is also survived by many cousins and friends. He enjoyed boating, camping, crabbing, mountain climbing, and spending time with his family and friends, including the Jack Russell Club. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, very long and detailed letters, kindness, good heartedness, and let’s not forget Gordo’s Giants…mow them down! Gordo was a gentle giant, and good to many. He will be forever missed and loved by all who knew him. The family will receive visitors Thursday, August 31st, 5-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc. 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Friday, September 1st, 9:45 am at St. Kilian RC Church. Interment following at St. Charles Cemetery.
