Martin, Elizabeth “Betty”, passed away peacefully at home in her favorite chair Friday, November 3, 2023. Although Betty had Alzheimer's and several ailments, she lived to 95 years of age due to the love and care of her devoted daughter, Mary Elizabeth Martin. Always a kind, sweet lady, she is now reunited with her husband Terence, their three children, Terence III, Michael, Kathleen and all her cherished dogs that have gone before her. Her grandsons Christopher, Dennis and Michael Arceo could do no wrong. Betty leaves many generations of family, she was a great-grandma, aunt, grand-aunt, and great-great-aunt. Betty had a deep faith and for many years she and three neighbors would gather weekly to pray the Rosary. Even though she moved to Farmingdale in 1967, she preferred being “a girl from da Bronx.” Was a big fan of the Yankees and Rangers and enjoyed the games with a faithful dog by her side. You would never know she never turned away food, especially dessert (what a sweet tooth!) Family and friends are invited to “raise a glass” to Betty Thursday, November 9th, from 2pm to 8pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Conklin Street, Farmingdale. Funeral Mass Friday, November 10th, 10:45 am at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, Massapequa Park. Interment following at St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Alzheimer’s Association (ALZ.org) or Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church (855 Carmans Road, Massapequa Park, NY 11762). In Betty’s honor and memory, think of her whenever you have a double cone with vanilla and chocolate ice cream with sprinkles from Mr. Softee.
