Dolores C. Novelli

Novelli, Dolores C., 73, of Bethpage, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2021, surrounded by her daughters and eldest granddaughter. Reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Toby. Loving mother of Laura Horne (Bobby), Jeanna Martino (Scott) and Christine Novelli (Jeff Kropacek). Adored Grandma of Giavanna, Jamie, Victoria, Vivian, Christian and Jovie. Dear sister of Adriano Morigi (Patricia). Cherished life-long best friend to Leanne and Frank Coringrato. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family, both nearby and in Italy. Giavanna, the eldest grandchild, had an unparalleled bond with Dolores and was in many ways her fourth daughter. Dolores was born in Censenatico, Italy, and moved to the United States as a young child. She was proud of her Italian heritage, but loved being an American and supported, respected and appreciated law enforcement and our military. Dolores was a strong willed woman who cherished every moment spent with her family. Her happiest memories were made on family vacations, relaxing at home, reading, knitting, playing mahjong and playing pranks on her family. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of independence, education and a strong work ethic, yet always encouraged them to have fun along the way and to remember that the most valuable gift in life is family.  To this point, her daughter, Christine, provided full time nursing care to Dolores during her illness, which meant the world to both of them. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, September 8th, 9:30-10:30 am at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Mass Wednesday, September 8th, 11am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Interment following at Calverton National Cemetery, where she will be buried alongside Toby. In lieu of flowers, Dolores specifically requested that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help find a cure for childhood cancer; stjude.org.
