Bernard Charles Hothersall

Hothersall, Bernard C., 79, raised in Farmingdale, NY, currently residing in Putnam Valley, NY.  He passed away August 1, 2023, at his residence, with his beloved wife, Virginia (nee Abramoske) by his side.  Devoted father of Bernard C. Jr. (Tracy).   His precious grandsons, Tyler and Jack will also miss him.  He proudly served 39 1\2 years in the U.S. Navy. He earned an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering at SUNY Farmingdale, a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, LI University, Greenville, NY.  Bernard never was a 'show off" of his intelligence, he gladly share it in with anyone who needed assistance. Along with being an aficionado of 1955 Chevys, he was an avid chess player. His final employment was as Senior Court Officer with the NYS Court House System, White Plains, NY.   Private interment, with military honors Tuesday, August 8, at Calverton National Cemetery.  A Memorial Mass in Bernard's honor will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (1377 East Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY 10588)  Friday, August 11, at 11:15 AM.  In lieu of flowers donations in Bernie's memory may be sent to the Michael J, Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (michaeljfox.org).
