Margaret T. McGeary

McGeary, Margaret, “Peggy”, (nee Robinson) passed away peacefully October 1, 2018 at home in her sleep surrounded by her loving family.  She was just short of her 90th Birthday.  Reunited in heaven by her beloved husband Tom, and her son, Robert Emmet McGeary.  Loving mother of Thomas, Kathleen Matthews (Gary), Peggy Fura, and Maureen Henry (Mike).  Cherished grandmother of Eric (Jean), Brian, Michael Lucrezia (Marisa), James Fura (Naara), Diana Hoyt (Suzie), Kristen Ledbetter, Michael (Michelle), Megan Henry, and Lynzie McGeary. Adored great-grandmother of Brooke Ledbetter and Avery and Michael Lucrezia.   Devoted sister to Grace Halcott.  She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Peggy proudly served as a Nassau County Crossing Guard for over 25 years - her most recent post being St. Martin of Tours School.   As an active member of the Bethpage community and St. Martin of Tours Parish, Peggy’s involvement included volunteer work with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, teaching CCD classes, and the St. Martin’s Choir of which she was a founding member.   However, most notably, Birthright and the Right-to-Life party were her passion. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, October 3, 2018, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., Bethpage. Funeral Mass Thursday, October 4, 2018, at St. Martin of Tours RC Church at 10 am. Interment following at Calverton National Cemetery.
