David H. Nelson

Nelson, David H., 91, longtime resident of Plainview passed away March 31, 2024. Beloved husband of 69 years to Eunice. Loving father of Gary, Gwen Hickey (Mike Clancy), Craig (Maria), Mike (Cathy), Richard (Andrea), and James (Beth). Cherished grandfather of Thomas (Talia), Christopher, Steven (Andrea), and Sara (Bryan). Adored great-grandfather of Lily. Proud United States Korean War Navy Veteran. David was funny, sociable, independent, and talkative. He was the “Mayor” of the block, everyone knew David and enjoyed talking to him and hearing his stories. David was extremely handy and taught himself how to fix just about anything. He was the one everyone on the block would call when something needed to be fixed, whether it was a “simple” auto-repair, fixing a leaky faucet, or renovating a home, David was there to help. David will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, April 3rd, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., 234 Broadway, Bethpage. Funeral Service Thursday, April 4th, 11 am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors following at Bethpage Methodist Cemetery.
